Pokerface
About the project
Winner of "Best Use of Roboflow"
Winner of "Best Use of ElevenLabs"
This is the first public hackathon I have done in a while due to restrictive rules from my current job.
I attended the Mentra Live hackathon hosted at Y Combinator with some of the club members from Stanford XR. My philosophy is that the best XR applications are the ones that make you superhuman. With this in mind, the group really enjoyed my idea of using the glasses to secretly help you in board and card games, specifically poker. It was the perfect blend of novelty, practicality, and attention-grabbing that we were looking for in a hackathon project.
Our pipeline involves using Roboflow's computer vision models to determine the cards on the table. The data is then piped to OpenAI's o3-mini API for intelligent feedback on what the player should do during the round. This is all wrapped around a set gameloop that revolves around a standard round of poker. And of course, the project wouldn't be complete until all the dialogue was voiced by AI-generated David Attenborough himself!
